The Police Lieutenant performs responsible mid-level managerial and administrative work in planning, supervising, and coordinating daily law enforcement operations. Work involves directing assigned divisions or units, supervising sergeants, officers, and staff, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and legal standards, and promoting community-oriented policing strategies. The position requires active engagement in training, performance management, and professional development of personnel, as well as leadership during critical incidents and public safety events. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Police Captain.
